Lay Down Your Weary Tune Dusty Old Fairgrounds * John Percy's Song Bob Dylan's New Orleans Rag * Seven Curses Review: The material presented here is an absolute must-have to any collection. This particular CD is perhaps the best title of the early boot CDs. Recorded from acetate, the 'pops and noises' are always present, but are not.

Lay down your weary tune, lay down Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself ’neath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum The last of leaves fell from the trees And clung to a new love’s breast The branches bare like a banjo played To the winds that listened best I gazed down in the river’s mirror And watched its winding.

Wow - what a great concert from this early stage of Bob's career! The only albums he had out at this time were his self-title debut, "Freehweelin'" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'", the latter being where all but one of these songs emanate from - except for "Lay Down Your Weary Tune", which was an outtake of that album, but available on "Biograph" and "Side Tracks"/5(27).
